1 Indrail Pass Ticket are issued and sold only to foreign national and Indians residing abroad, holding valid passport.

2 An “ Indrail Pass” holder is entitled to travel within the period of validity by all trains including Rajdhani Express trains also. No Separate charge will be payable by the holders of “ Indrail Pass” for means provided in Rajdhani Express trains since Rajdhani fares are inclusive of meal charges.

3 Besides no sleeper surcharges or supplementary charges for travel by super fast trains or reservation fees shall be payable by the “Indrail Pass” holder.

4 The periods of validity will be reckoned from the date of commencement of the first journey and upto the mid night of the date on which the validity expires.

5 No. refunds of fares on partially used “Indrail Pass” or for travel in lower class of accommodation is permissible. In first other word, once first journey has been commencement, no refund is permitted. However is an “ Indrail Pass” ticket is surrendered for cancellation before commencement of the journey and no reservation has been made, full fare should be refunded to him at the station from where the “Indrail Pass” has been purchased irrespective of the date on which the cancellation is made. If however any reservation has been done on “Indral Pass” the refund will be subject to normal refund rule, i.e , the percentage deduction will be of the full value of “ Indrail Pass” subject to the maximum and minimum charges laid down in the revised refund rules in force. Refunds in all such cases will be made only in Indian Rupees.

Foreign tourist quota is made available on priority to all foreign visitors holding a tourist visa or a business visa.

A supplementary charges is levied per passenger irrespective of the distance of the traveled for Super fast train as under:

This charges is leviable on all tickets including Military Warrants, concession order, etc,.

Exception has however been made in case of Members of Parliament traveling on Identity -cum- Railway passes and railway staff traveling on Privilege and Duty Passes and Complimentary passes for all class including family members of the railway staff traveling on duty and tickets obtained in exchange of PTO’s of all classes.

Passenger entraining from intermediate stations will also have to pay this charge. On the through journey tickets, supplementary charges for traveling by super fast trains should be levied once only irrespective of the break of journey.

As per extant rules supplementary charge is levied on passenger traveling by super fast trains depending on the class of travel. The passengers holding through tickets some times are not in a position to a purchase supplementary charge ticket due to various reasons. Passenger holding through tickets and boarding super fast trains at intermediate stations as per their tickets should not be made to pay the penalty charges if they have not already purchased the supplementary charge ticket. They will be charges only the supplementary charge on super fast trains. This will apply all classes of accommodation. Supplementary charge will continue to be charged only once through out the passenger’s journey.
